Summary

Despite her best efforts, Hermione Granger is unable to avoid a mandated marriage. Draco Malfoy, who defected earlier in the war, offers to be her co-conspirator as well as her future husband.
With snarky Slytherins, drinking games, cursed magical artifacts, and Hermione Granger tongue lashings galore in both the metaphorical and literal sense.

Surely there was nothing so dire that it couldn’t wait until she returned to work on Monday.

As you are no doubt aware, there has been a sharp decline in wizarding births since the end of the Second Wizarding War. To combat this population decrease, we, at the Ministry, have taken decisive action by enacting Legislative Decree 2001.898A, hereafter known as the Marriage Act.
Through the Marriage Act, we aim to unite magical couples and encourage the creation of magical children.
Couples who wish to marry have two months to present themselves at the Ministry’s Office of Vital Records. After this two-month period, the Ministry’s team of marriage experts will begin matching eligible witches and wizards based on magical compatibility and other criteria.
