Summary
Mike kept it together. When Holly went missing. When his mom almost died; when his dad did. When his sister broke down in the hospital, he kept it together. Or maybe he couldn't get himself to do anything else. But when Will collapsed after killing the Demogorgon, saving Mike's life, something broke. And now, as the fractured pieces cut him up from the inside, it's getting harder to be the reliable party leader.

"You really can’t see yourself at all?”
Mike shrugs, like: what can you do about it.
“It’s fine,” he says, with a toothy grin that reveals his fangs. He’s so focused on making the crease between Will’s eyebrows disappear that he doesn’t even stop to consider the words that are leaving his mouth. “As long as I can still see your face,” he says. “I'll be alright.”
It's hard to face your feelings when you can’t even see your own reflection. Mike tries to be brave about it.
