Summary
Shawn woke up to Lassiter tapping his arm. He gasped, and looked up at him, wide eyed, before it faded to annoyance, though it was more with himself than with Lassiter. He looked around him. He was supposed to be on a stakeout with Gus, but of course, Gus ditched him for his latest girlfriend about two hours ago. So Shawn had been sitting alone in the Blueberry.
Clearly, he'd fallen asleep. With the doors unlocked, apparently, because Lassiter now sat in the driver's seat.
Wordlessly, Lassiter handed Shawn a Hershey bar. It was just a mini one. Shawn blinked, looking at him. “I appreciate the sugary gift, but why? And also what are you doing here?”

He also, somewhat, wanted to distract himself. From all of it. From the crowd of people all muttering around him, from the friction of his clothes rubbing against him as he moved, from the stupid bright lights that wouldn’t stop buzzing. All of it was rubbing him the wrong way, making him feel as though he was going to lose it. All of this stupid stuff shouldn’t have been bothering him, it almost never did. But now it was, and he felt as though he was about to throw up. Or break down. Or cry. Or, D, all of the above.
One thing became crystal clear to him. If he didn’t get out of that room immediately, something bad was going to happen.

Zack had always thought that Milo’s fear of Chinese finger traps was completely ridiculous. I mean, he could understand that his own fear of fish was completely irrational, despite the hold it had on him, so he didn’t feel weird thinking that way. He was sure that plenty of people were afraid of them, but when you’d been kidnapped by aliens and defeated an entire swarm of plant monsters, how were you still afraid of a novelty toy?
It wasn’t until one day, after Zack and Milo had gotten carried away in a fairly minor mudslide, that he realized exactly how bad Milo’s fear was. And the bigger issue it really stemmed from.
