Summary
Ed had always loved playing guitar, he found it relaxing. It was a way for him to unwind after a long day. When he was in his twenties he began to write his own songs to play, and it became a sort of therapy. He never shared them with anybody, always finding them too personal to ever feel comfortable performing. They were the only thing in his life that could solely be his.
It wasn’t until he met Stede that those walls began to break down. They became fast friends, but Ed always wanted more. The songs turned from lonely ballads to ones of longing. He still wouldn’t share the songs, but he began to open up to Stede more and more.

-Stede made his way slowly towards the fires down the beach. As he walked he saw Ed, his Ed, walking to the woods. It had been the first time he had seen the man sense the day on the beach. He approached slowly so as to not startle the man, you could see the falter in his eyes as soon as he caught sight of Stede.
“What are you doing here” Ed said, clearly trying to sound tough, but the uncertainty was clear in his face.
“I’m sorry” Stede replied, and it was then that all of Ed faded from the face of Black Beard.
“Now there’s a bloody ghost here to haunt me! In case you forgot you're supposed to be dead” the feared pirate yelled with as much scorn as he could manage.

Gavin sighed, alone on the balcony once more. Just when he had hope, that Richard might be interested in him. He lost himself in thought, but he didn’t have more than a minute to think before the door burst open hurriedly. Gavin turned around quickly, hoping to hide all emotions, if it was Richard back so soon, something must have gone wrong.
