Brian's boot crosses the finish line in a burst of power. Light glances off the shiny surface of the steel railings and for a lingering moment she glows– actually glows.
Camera shutters click amongst the cheering of the crowd. Mayano stares at Brian's back as she walks off to nod victoriously at the cacophony of adoring fans.
“Brian,” Mayano calls.
