Forty chapters, triggered by hooks of passion and agony, set in a variety of dream-like settings, and wrapped in a rich theme, are bound together by compelling characters and strong storytelling. The story ends with a resolution that resolves the plights of the primary and secondary characters. All is not lost in love or anger. Would their love be able to transcend Lucifer's immortality? Selfishly, this reader can see a sequel. Can the writer?

As I finish reading this posting, I close the month's writings with satisfaction. "Dear Dad" is filled with angst, rage, suffering, self-pity, and a desire for a future filled with independence, especially with Chloe. Dear WordRunner, it takes understanding, knowledge, brilliance and longing to write a chapter as powerful as this one. Brava!

The writer's explanation of the Canon and non-canonical scenes after Father Frank's death is brilliantly written. The reader feels the turmoil in Lucifer as well as Chloe's compassion for her partner. There are tears in my eyes due to the emotions tugging at my heartstrings.

I am so glad that this story was suggested for Friday FanFiction. The author's writing style is succinct, descriptive, and engaging. The reader senses the scope of Chloe and Lucifer's attraction toward one another. Their love is a dynamic that will bode well for the years to come. One can deduce from their last discussion that Chloe may join the immortal ranks. Adult content that tells a story with a strong narrative.
