Summary
Of all the siblings in the gang, Johnny looked the least like his brother. Probably because they weren’t related. Ace and Steve shared the same brown skin and soft eyes. Even though the Curtis brothers argued none of them looked alike, Johnny saw it in the curves of their smiles and the bend of their noses. Johnny looked nothing like Dallas Winston.

Summary
Johnny is alone again on a rainy night. Dallas finds him in the lot and decides to take him to the Curtis house. In the warmth of Buck's old T-bird, Johnny has some time to muse on things: Patsy Cline's singing, Tulsa at night, and, of course, Dally himself.
This oneshot is intended to be a bittersweet snapshot into Johnny and Dallas's relationship prior to the events of the book/musical.

"“Johnny!” Dally sat up wildly. His chest and abdomen screamed in protest, and he groaned. However, he persisted in his need to get up, scrabbling against the other guy’s grasp.
Two-Bit’s strong hands pushed Dally back down. Usually, Dally could have fought back, but, infuriatingly, his body failed him. Dally grabbed at Two-Bit’s arms desperately. “Two-Bit… Johnny, he…” Dally trailed off, looking at Two-Bit, hoping he would understand. Dally couldn’t say it.
“He’s alive, Dally,” Two-Bit said, keeping one hand on Dally’s arm to keep him from getting up, and putting the other on Dally’s chest. “He’s alive.”"
Dally and Johnny both survived. But now what?
This fic has been edited and retitled. It's old title was "Dallas Winston Hates Hospitals (and Emotions)".

Summary
A few weeks after Bob Sheldon, Johnny Cade, and Dallas Winston die, they make an unexpected return. Ponyboy is the only one who can see them, and for some reason, they're stuck to him, unable to move on.
As Pony tries to hide this from the living people in his life, things become a lot direr when it becomes clear that these three ghosts aren't the only entities that Pony's unstable grief has manifested.

"Dallas thought he would stay with these guys forever. It was all so clear: he would move up through the ranks until Jack saw him as an equal, and one day he, too, would find a lost, lonesome boy on the streets and bring him into the fold, raising him in the way of the gang the way he had been. The fuzz and the city had been talking for months now about cleaning up the neighborhood, about scrubbing the streets clean of graffiti and needles and drunks passed out on the sidewalks, but they hadn't succeeded just yet. The gangs still controlled the turf, and Dallas felt unstoppable. Like he'd managed to take his shitty, screwed up life and squeeze something like happiness out of it.
This was, of course, before the night that found him kneeling beside a body, bloody switchblade in hand as the swirling lights of encroaching cop cars painted his face."
Or, Dally's life has always been about survival, even after being taken in by a gang led by the toughest hood in New York. It isn't until he arrives in Tulsa, chased out of the city by one violent act, that he realizes a crucial piece of his life that's been missing: friendship. But is it enough to save Dally from himself?
