“Shizun,” Ming Fan ventured cautiously, watching Shen Qingqiu stride ahead with the massive mirror slung across his shoulder like some deranged traveling peddler, “shouldn’t… shouldn’t we leave that object where it is?”
“And permit some other sect—or worse, passing opportunists—to claim it and put it to vile use? This Master would never allow such calamity to take root.”
Except, what came out of Shen Qingqiu's mouth was, “I need this mirror to beat Shang Qinghua over the head with it until he coughs up an explanation.”
…Wait...what?!
or: Shen Qingqiu accidentally falls under the curse of truth, leaving Liu Qingge to wonder if this is the day his shixiong has finally given in to madness.

Under the flickering candlelight, Qi - no, Yue Qingyuan - looks at the body below him, that skin as pale as mutton fat jade, seeing utterly clearly, the healed burn scars on the back of the person in his bed, and the hot and white liquid on the sheets.
“Xiao Jiu…”
In that moment, his expression falls, his face, also turns gray.
“ - I - I have committed a sin…”
So, it was like this.
No matter what, he was just a rat, hiding his head and tail, unable to stand the light, while Yue Qingyuan was a phoenix who had risen from the branches to soar, a carp who had leapt over the Dragon Gate.
The next day, Peak Lord Shen Qingqiu left Cang Qiong mountain without a word.
(Four years later, Yue Qingyuan finds, in a remote town, a small child calling him “A-Die!”)
