Megumi’s breath hitches. A thousand microexpressions that Gojo’s learned to read over the years flicker across his features like the pages of a flipbook. “...what?”

‘Weird hair,’ is his first thought, eyes switching between the two people stood in front of them. ‘What do they want,’ is his second, fingers twitching at his sides as he wonders if he should try to call the demon dogs.
“Fushiguro, right?” The taller one says, hands settling on his knees as he lowers into a crouch. “Megumi and Tsumiki?” He smiles as he says their names, glossy lips as bright as his eerie blue eyes in the warmer light of the late afternoon, familiar and fond.
Almost, Megumi wonders, as if he knows them.
Or: There are consequences to time travel. In this case, they turn out to be good ones.

“Satoru?” The word rings, fuzzy in his ears as it whines like tinnitus, familiar and heart stopping.
‘I’m dead.’ He can’t even hear his own thoughts over the loudness of the world, staggering where he stands, eyes still fixated on the sky, on the sun. ‘I’m dead, I died, I felt my heart stop, this can’t be, it can’t-’
“Hey,” it comes again, a little more urgent than before, a little closer, another hammer to his ears and all the noise shrieking behind his eyes. He recoils hard enough to go stumbling as a hand reaches for him, covered in flesh rather than empty bone, tan and recognizable. Unbelievable.
There’s something wet trickling from his nose. Bile stings on the back of his tongue. The words dissolve into the rest of the white noise as he stares up at the blue of the sky, and tries to remember if he’d ever had a hallucination as bright as this.
‘I have to be dead,’ he thinks. Somehow, he isn’t.
Or: Gojo Satoru goes back in time. He makes a couple of changes for the better.

Summary
He traces the petals on his arm and then the ones on his chest, trailing his fingers over the sensitive skin and telling himself that he’s alive, he’s alive, he’s lived and he’s loved and he was loved by another.
Telling himself that Suguru lives on in the petals that will forever decorate his skin - that so long as kuroyuri map Suguru’s final injuries out on Satoru’s body, Suguru is not truly gone. He carries some part of Suguru with him, some part of Suguru’s soul so deeply entwined with his that one cannot hurt without the other blossoming.
(Pure love.)
It is sick and it is twisted and some days, it is the only thing that keeps Satoru going - the lie that he is not alone because the remnants of Suguru are damning scars on his own skin.
