Summary
In a world where Marquis is never sent to the Birdcage, Amelia Lavere is able to come out as a lesbian when she’s sixteen. Her supportive father sees her sexuality as an opportunity to kill two birds with one stone: assimilate his new rivals, the Undersiders, into his organization by marrying his daughter off to their mysterious and possibly dangerous thinker, hopefully encouraging her social life in the process.
Meanwhile, Taylor Hebert attempts to join the Wards only to discover that her bully is already there. Radicalized against the concept of secret identities, she joins New Wave, making a strange sort of friendship with one Victoria Dallon and Crystal Pelham.

If asked, Pyro would definitely say that living in Scott’s castle is good. It’s amazing, even—there’s cattle to eat, chickens to bleed, it’s grand and beautiful and really lives up to the hype, Scott’s got a wonderful eye for decorating and it shows—and he’s not only saying that because of the Nightly Affirmations! It really is a lovely castle! Pyro has passed many a late morning crouching in the shaded part of the courtyard and watching the blood fountain trickle! There are lots of bats to watch… he doesn’t have to eat anything if he doesn’t want to, even if he’s hungry…
“I still don’t want to come out,” Apo says from within her room. Prison. Whatever. It’s her room, technically, but Scott said if she was going to sulk like a teenager over being turned she could stay in her room until her attitude improved, and Pyro knows how futile it is to try and work around direct orders like that.

Summary
A mug clunked firmly onto the island beside her head, and chair legs scraped against the floor as Domino took a seat beside her. With a Herculean effort, Sage dragged her head up and pulled the mug towards her, breathing in the bitter fumes. Loathe as she was to admit it, it did make her feel a little better.
The effect was ruined when she glanced at Domino out of the corner of her eye and saw the expectant look on her face. Sage tipped her head back with a groan, closing her eyes. "So everybody knows."
"Mutants are notorious gossips," Domino said, not unsympathetically. "And you picked a fight with Charley Xavier in the middle of the Green Lagoon."
"It wasn't the middle," Sage groused. "And it wasn't a fight."

As a child, Sage was made a spy instead of an X-Man and left to wonder why Xavier had rejected her. As an adult, a combination of alcohol, bad timing, and chance encounters forces her to confront the lasting impact her time in the Hellfire Club had on her, and finally make her peace with the past.
