Matthew pulled his shirt over his head, revealing faded bruises and fresh scars, along with other healed pink lines. Jud examined his fit form, despite the restful week he had had. Matthew’s muscles tensed, and Jud looked at his hands as he wrapped his wrists and knuckles.

“Felt like what?” Bucky prompts. He wonders, vaguely, if Steve noticed the crack in his voice.

    “Like I didn’t belong.”

    I don’t belong.

“Like I was living a life that wasn’t meant for me.”

    Or

Bucky reflects on his final days with Steve, tries to text Sam back, uses Google way too much, and has a very, very long day.

Hydra had taken things from him he could never get back.
