Summary
When Ambrosius tries to turn him on Nimona, Ballister refuses to believe it, waking his sidekick up as soon as he gets back to the tower and pushing until he learns the truth. Gloreth was a child and there was never a monster, just two scared little girls, friends that were torn apart by the bigoted ideals of fearful adults. Everyone has their breaking point, and he is no exception, With the knowledge of the past ringing in his ears he hits it, his breaking point. As an emotionally exhausted Nimona sleeping soundly on the couch of the tower he has called home since the worst night of his life, he packs for the journey ahead of them. When the Knights of the Realm arrive that morning, the Queen killer, Ballister Boldheart and the shapeshifting monster Nimona are gone, The only thing left of them is a note telling the reader that the Villains had banished themselves over the wall.
Aka: Ballister asks Nimona for her side of things instead of just accusing her, finds out the true story of Gloreth and the 'monster' and leaves the Kingdom with his child.

Ballister stared at the photo, his eyes widening. He immediately ran to the front of his cell, focused on nothing else but the pink graffiti.
“Where did you get this?”
“My question first. You know who this is?”
“Everyone in the Undercity knows, how can anyone not know them?” His gaze was trained on him now, big brown eyes that Ambrosius could get lost in forever– nope. Don’t do that. “Where did you find this?”
Ambrosius frowned at him. “There was an attack. This is evidence. Look, I need proof if I’m to believe what you’re saying about this criminal.”
“Well, I could get it for you, just not from in here.” Ballister scoffed.
That made the knight snicker at the insinuation. “In what mad world would I trust someone like you?”
