In the aftermath of the 'Escape the Circus' adventure, tensions come to a head. Caine tries to make everything right with the circus members, but his attempts to regain their trust cause an even deeper rift to form as Jax is separated from the group during a new immersive maze adventure.

Everyone else is still wrestling with their resentment towards Jax after Caine's "Escape the Circus" Adventure and they're pretty sure Pomni is making a terrible life choice. But hey, maybe they can get a whole new tolerable Jax out of the deal, so I guess they can just let Pomni cook a little here ...
(IDK how to write a summary for this. It's full of emotional vulnerability and some smut and lots of angst and hurt/comfort and enough fluff to heal your soul, so ... hopefully you enjoy the ride? I don't know if the smut counts as Mature or Explicit; it's pretty bog-standard and mostly dry humping. Nothing dark. Just lots of vulnerability. There's also a Beach Episode v2.0 and a Sleepover Adventure later on in here. Make of that what you will.)

Jax looked past his reflection in the window and into the cafe. His eyes almost immediately narrowed in on one patron of the cafe. A young woman was sitting at a table by herself, fidgeting with her phone. Jax knew that woman. He would recognize her anywhere.
It was her. It was Pomni.
An AU where the events of episode 7 happened a bit differently and the members of the circus manage to escape.

Or: Caine glitches during an update and accidentally opens up the cellar, letting out all the abstracted cast members that were supposed to stay locked away forever. Jax shows he cares more than he lets on.

Are you okay? She wants to ask.
But her gut tells her that that might not be the best approach with Jax yet. The memory of him hunched over the buttons console in despair, raw and full of hurt comes unbidden.
“...What is this place?” She asks instead, relieved to see that his shoulders slightly sagged down as if in relief.
