“You gotta kiss Buck, it’s the rules,” Chris says gleefully. Buck glances over at Eddie whose cheeks are just as red as Buck suspects his own are.
“Chris -” Buck starts as Eddie shifts in place, moving just far enough that their hands aren’t touching anymore.
“It’s the rules,” Chris repeats emphatically, staring at them. Buck shrugs a little awkwardly as Eddie’s eyes finally meet his own.
“I mean, if it’s the rules,” Buck murmurs, offering Eddie a small smile. Eddie breaks their eye contact and clears his throat, shifting a little further away.
“No,” he says and oh, oh no Buck has been reading it all wrong. He takes a half-step back, his chest feeling tight and his stomach bottoming out.
