Summary
Harry had been planning to spend the summer after fifth year with Sirius. He'd completed his animagus transformation just for this purpose. But now Sirius is dead and Dumbledore has Harry more isolated than ever. In a desperate bid to survive the summer, Harry goes through with their plan...with some modifications. He can't go to the vacation home Sirius planned to take them to, but he can spend the summer safely tucked away in the wilderness as a snake.
But when Voldemort himself finds Harry while on a stroll, Harry's whole life will change. Harry's never had someone tend to his wounds or ensure he has a warm, safe place to sleep. But this is Voldemort, surely, if Harry wasn't a random snake, he'd be dead in an instant. Voldemort isn't stupid. He knows something is different about this little snakelet he's found. It doesn't take long to put together the pieces. But if he has Harry Potter - an injured, scared, grieving Harry Potter, at that - in his possession, then why isn't the wizarding world in a panic? Why isn't Dumbledore taking care of his savior? And what will it take to get Harry on his side?

Harry blinked at the man in confusion. “You’ve tried monster before?”
“Of course,” Snape scoffed. “Almost all Hogwarts students have at some stage, it’s why it had to be added to the sex education talk.”

Summary
Harry Potter has always known he was different from the Dursleys, but when he meets Death at the age of nine, he learns of an entirely new world. A magical one. He knows to expect a letter from a magical school, and is happy to learn that when Professor McGonagall shows up to deliver it personally, she has no intentions of ever sending him back to the Dursley home and instead informs him of his birthright as an heir not only to the Potters but also to the Blacks. Now with a home of his own, although plagued with a yapping portrait and a scowling house-elf, Harry finally learns what it means to be free, and he begins his schooling. However, Harry quickly discovers the magic he uses is not like that of his schoolmates, but something else entirely, something old and forbid-den in Britain, and he has to hide away his true self to not rouse any suspicions.

He knocked on Harry's door and got an invitation. He stepped in but had to stop in his tracks because Harry was half-naked and all the blood in Barty's head was rushing south, fast. He drank the sight of Harry, all of his glory and naked chest, like a thirsty man on the doorstep of his death. The boy was gorgeous, so beautiful. More beautiful than my Lord.

Barty felt companionship to Harry during his year impersonating Moody, fell for him, hard, saved him from his relatives and got an heir to his Lord. He was emotionally unstable and didn't understand all the social clues, but he was sure that Harry and his Lord were meant for each other, so he just tried to... swallow his jealousy. When Harry left for his fifth year in Hogwarts, they started to change letters and Barty realized soon that he was deeper than he ever thought. And what the fuck he could say to his Lord? That he had a crush on his Lord's heir? Right, it would be a catastrophe. And why is Harry teasing me constantly?
