Ava ex-cop that everyone hates, convicted for drug trafficking and dirty police stuff with DD. Sara prison guard assigned to her for protection. Got beat up bad on Sara’s day off. She feels a connection to Ava and is fighting to stay professional, esp bc her sister was killed by DD. Ava works in the library and has befriended Zari. Possibly read through chapter 10.

“The Waverider.” Ava said, rolling the unfamiliar word around her tongue. “I still – I don’t believe any of this.”
“I don’t think I would either.” Sara said quietly. “And you’re - you’re calling me from a cabin in 1989?”
It felt weird to say it like that, from 1989, but Ava reasoned a time-traveller must have to speak like that all the time, and she nodded, before realising Sara couldn’t hear her.
“Uh - yeah. 1989.”
or - ava and sara connect across time and space, utterly improbably.

Okay, so maybe her crush on a fictional character was a little more out of control than she thought -
(or, the high school au where ava is an actress who plays sara's favourite character on a tv show, and she transfers to sara's school)
