Summary
She can’t be real, he thinks. This must be a sign of him steadily going mad. A mirage - it must be. A vision of a time that once existed, when girls who look like dolls were free to make noise in the woods, without fear of dying at the hands of a zombie.
He’s shown abruptly that she indeed must be real, because she falls violently to the ground, and the mirage is shattered. He hears her swear aloud, then he sees the blood pooling steadily down her sleeve. He slowly comes to realise the source of her terror: the shiny metal of his trap, quite literally pinning her to the forest floor.
She’s thrashing, attempting to simply pry the trap off of her. She’s quite the sight, pulling at the trap wildly while flailing around in all her layers, like an alligator performing a death roll. It’s then that he notices her eyes have fallen closed at some point.
Scheiße, she passed out. She’s going to bleed to death. Unless someone goes down there. And there’s no one else around for miles.

This started as something inspired by Trapper, Keeper by babypandacakes. It evolved into a new beast, long-ish. I'm currently writing chapter 34, with an end in sight.

See, being raised civilian and deciding to become a kunoichi was a tricky situation in many aspects but the top three, for Sakura, were:
1. Having no proper knowledge of chakra;
2. No previous training or fitness regime;
Lastly, and the one that eventually caused all her problems,
3. Sakura had no idea about proper shinobi etiquette. She hadn’t known that clans with hidden techniques guarded their secrets as tightly as any other with a bloodline limit. She had no clue that recreating one of their jutsus would be considered disrespectful and treasonous.OR
That time Sakura reverse-engineered the Kagemane-no-Jutsu to impress her friend but ended up exiled as a traitor instead.
