Summary
"You’re a temptation..." Lycaon rasped, his voice low and trembling, lips brushing the shell of Hugo’s ear, every word burning with feral want. "Unrivalled by the most vicious moonlights."
His hands gripped Hugo’s waist tighter, fingers flexing—and then tearing.
The fabric gave beneath his claws, threads snapping like the last of his restraint, exposing skin he had only dared to imagine."You always have been..." his voice was thick with hunger, as though the truth had been carved into his bones all along.
From a discussion over a new genre called Omegaverse, to the effects of full moon, Hugo and Lycaon find themselves entangled not only in the matter of fates, but in bed as well.. mostly in bed.

Summary
Aventurine never had any partner to stick with him after a single mission. So Jade puts him up with an Inteligentsia guild agent, Dr. Ratio. He wonders if things would be better... but could they be any worse?
“You don't believe me?” He looks at the Doctor provocatively, an expression that could be seen as either seductive or predatory, his eyes so intense that Ratio nearly averted his.
Since he did not respond, Aventurine grabbed his revolver from his hidden pocket, emptying the cylinder and placing a single bullet inside.
"Seems like I'll need to get you up to speed on how I do things if our cooperation were to remain amicable." He grabbed Ratio's hand with more force than anticipated, placing the gun in his hand and, surprisingly, placing it against his own chest.Series

Summary
By their third mission—between the crass jokes, the mindless banter, and the heated glares Ratio sends him when Aventurine’s jokes cross some invisible line—the tension snaps under the weight of it all.
Ratio’s hand slams against the wall mere inches from Aventurine’s face. Eyes like no sunset Aventurine has ever seen bore into him. It leaves Aventurine feeling both utterly exposed and yet so very empty.
“Hit a nerve?” Aventurine guesses. His interest is piqued, but not his fear.
There's something about the new partner he's had for a few missions. It can't just be that handsome bust of his. There's something simmering under the surface that is different about Doctor Veritas Ratio. Aventurine is determined to find out what that is.

Summary
But then the back of his hand hits Ratio’s.
It’s an accident—it always is when it’s the two of them—but the result is the same.
… his hands are surprisingly soft.
It is not an insult or crass comment. It is not something superficial or sharp. It isn’t even belittling. No, the words that sound just like Ratio that flutter around in his head are so agonizingly gentle that Aventurine swears he feels dizzy from it.
Or, Aventurine temporarily acquires the ability to not only read the minds of the cat cakes, but also those around him. Ratio's thoughts are far kinder than Aventurine had anticipated. It may just be the impetus they need to finally clear the air.

Summary
Ratio turned to him with a hand placed on the doorframe. Now, he was the one choosing between protection and truth. Thankfully, there was a third option: marriage of the two. “I’ll miss your company when we have to move to another planet.”
He left out the part where he had started to buy lemon scented candles for Aventurine’s bedroom, which he otherwise hated. He left out the part where he made sure his bookshelf would arrive when Aventurine was home so the two could spend time together, even if it was something as mundane as the organization of literature. He left out the part where he ensured there were always apples in his kitchen now, as that seemed to be the only thing Aventurine ate for breakfast. He left out the part where he nearly crashed into an old Edo Star native in his rush to collect Aventurine from the bar. He left out the dreams, the thoughts, and everything else that mattered.
Maybe that was a bad choice. But it felt like the right one - the two are often opposites.
//
In which Aventurine and Dr. Ratio's schedules frequently align in a way that is constantly putting them both on the same planet, for better or for worse. And Ratio is NOT hopelessly in love.

The dialogue is master-class and the world-building is choice. Has had me genuinely laughing out loud multiple times. :-) Beautiful
