Their little arrangement is handled well enough by the two of them, or maybe nobody is stupid enough to bother someone willingly associating themselves near him, even if it’s only to add to the collection of markings that litter his face and more. “I don’t see what you get out of this,” Koniro finally fills in the empty silence as he hops down from the desk. “Just being some sort of punching bag. It’s not my problem, either, really.”

Summary
A royal Prince gives up on his dreams after being cursed. Packs them away into a part of himself where he won't have to look at them, where their loss won't have to hurt. He pushes them away, buries them in darkness, and tries to protect himself from the pain of remembering them. He does not give them a chance to grow.
Many years later, a boy named Will is born of those dreams, and sent out into the world with nothing but a borrowed sword, a book, and a fairy for a friend.
He is six years old.

Alces growls and points his sword at Will. “Who are you? Name yourself!”
“...Grius?” Will utters breathlessly.
The Prince can’t hold it in any longer. “That’s Will! He’s a brave hero who’s traveled all over the world helping people! Like in my book!”
OR
When the young prince is in danger, his wish summons a hero to save him. The hero is the coolest person ever.
