    But that couldn’t be. Hisoka was dead. He had watched him die with his own eyes, many many times. Watched the life drain from his eyes, the last flicker of aura vanish into stillness. The corpse had been real. The blood, the silence—it had all been real.

    But the words were still there, glowing faintly on the screen.

    He had to check.
    Not because he believed.
    Because the not knowing was worse.
