He remembered Wang Shuo tilting Chi Cheng’s head back, his tongue in his mouth, the lilt of his own voice as he said, “Let him come up for air for a minute.”

Sevro dropped his head down onto Darrow’s shoulder. He was so warm, and Darrow couldn’t resist putting an arm around him, drawing him closer. Sevro hummed, almost like a purr, low and gravelly in his throat. Darrow felt the tension fall out of his shoulders.
