    Summary

The Ottawa Centaurs take turns processing Ilya and Shane's relationship before their season together starts.

    Excerpt:

"Quietly and to himself, Luca had always thought that no one could fake chemistry like that. Not during a game, for sure. And he didn't just mean All-Stars 2017 either. All of their games. There was a reason people liked watching them play."

    Ilya Rozanov @rozan0v_off
Almost fell asleep watching Shane Hollander play. Is the most depressing man I know. Even his chirps are polite. Maybe he wouldn’t be so boring if he weren’t best friends with his mom?

    What the hell, Rozanov?

Shane grinds his teeth, desperate to keep his tears at bay. This is ridiculous. This isn’t even mean. Not really. Shane should consider himself lucky, really; Ilya is never usually this bad at trash-talking other players. So why is Shane even hurt?

Perhaps it’s the fact that Ilya wrote something about him at all, and Shane only found out because Hayden sent him a screenshot of it. Or maybe it’s the fact that he used the word “boring”, which is an adjective that has been used to describe Shane so many times throughout his life that he’s come to loathe the very letters composing it.

Or, Rozanov creates a fake Twitter account to defend Shane from his haters, and then overcorrects when some fangirls get suspicious about his identity.

“Ilya, you’re playing the Voyageurs next, in Montreal. How are you feeling about that?” An ESPN mic is held to his face.

Rozanov grins. “Really good. About time. I know we have been winning a lot, but is always the most fun to beat Montreal.”

“The situation’s kind of changed though, hasn’t it?”

“Is true.” Rozanov looks almost thoughtful. “It used to be the most fun to beat them because they had the best player on their team. Now…” Rozanov trails off. He chances a look to the side, as if to check if someone’s there or not. “Now is going to be fun because they are very stupid.” Rozanov’s face is very hard. Serious. Angry. Scary.

Or: Signing with the Montreal Voyageurs should have been the best day in Jordan Bicker’s career. If only it weren’t for Ilya Rozanov…

    Summary

    “So,” Cliff starts. “Ottawa.”

“Ottawa,” Roz repeats, and the way he says it, half-amused, half-quizzical, gives Cliff nothing.

    “It’s not Montreal.”

Roz looks offended. “Why would I go to fucking Montreal?”

Cliff shrugs, going for casual. “Montreal Girl? I thought, you know, if you ever go to Canada…”

Roz scoffs. “You and Montreal girl. You say I am obsessed with her, but is you who always talks about her.”

“Yeah, because you’re always texting her!”

“Well, I like to get laid.”

    And there’s Cliff’s opening.

Or: Cliff has been suspecting that Roz moved to Ottawa for his Montreal girl for a while now. And tonight, they’re going to go out for drinks and he’s finally going to get some answers. Not even two overeager rookies are going to stop him. Except things don’t quite go as Cliff planned and Jane from Montreal is not what he expected.

    Summary

Shane Hollander has been in the league long enough to know the drill. As one of the veteran players, he's expected to house rookies for their first season—help them adjust, keep them on track, and make sure they don't implode under the pressure. It's never been a problem. Shane's got the space, the discipline, and the boundaries to keep things professional.

    Until Ilya Rozanov.

The rookie is everything Shane should avoid: young, reckless, and far too aware of the effect he has on people. He smokes when he shouldn't, drinks like he's invincible, and plays hockey like he's got nothing to lose. Off the ice, he's all sharp edges and smoldering confidence, with a crooked smirk that feels like a dare.

    He's in danger.

Because the attraction is immediate. Undeniable. And no matter how hard Shane tries to maintain control, Ilya doesn't make it easy. The younger man crowds his space, murmurs filthy things in Russian that make Shane's face burn, and looks at him like he's already won.

Shane has always been the one in control.

But with Ilya, he's nothing more than prey—and the predator has already set his sights on him.
