“You want me to go to a party with your teammates? Why?”
So they can meet my boyfriend? Ilya kept that attitude in his head, not wanting to scare him away from the idea. “They are cool people. You might have fun.”
“But… wouldn’t it be weird, if we showed up together?”
Ilya shrugged casually as if this were a completely normal conversation. “They know you would be in Ottawa for Christmas. We are friends, so I invite you to a party. No big deal.”
Shane fidgets with his hands and bites his lip, he does that when he’s nervous. “Are you sure?”
Ilya nods. “Yes, they are good guys. They would not think is weird at all.” He grabs Shane’s hands in reassurance and gently smiles. “Will be ok.”
“Okay, if you think so. But you can’t fuck around and flirt and stuff. I don’t want to risk being obvious.” Shane demands while trying to hide a smile.
“When do I do that? That does not sound like me?” Ilya teases, trying to hold back the ginormous smile his brain is pushing him to make.
