Summary
Eddie Munson didn't expect to live.
He didn't think he'd find himself in a coma, waking up years later to learn he survived the horrors of the Upside Down, with the scars to prove it. In the midst of all his tragedy, Uncle Wayne has a caretaker move in to help him adjust to life in Hawkins once again. He's bitter and haunted by the horrors he experienced.

Somewhere else in Chicago, Eddie Munson's life is pretty good. He lives with his best friend. He works nights at a bar he loves. No, it's not what he'd imagined his life was gonna be like at thirty-two, because Steve isn't here, and there was a time he couldn't ever imagine living his life without him.
But he has, and it's fine, everything's fine. Honest.
He's accepted it. Fortunately, the universe, and Gareth, have not.
After a chance sighting in that busy airport, Eddie has the chance to try and reconnect with Steve after nearly a decade apart.
