Summary
"Repeat it, then," says Erik, and after a moment of silence he reluctantly adds;
"Please.""I asked if I could kiss you," Raoul repeats, slowly, balancing the fear in his voice that he must be so determined to keep secret. And yet, it's Erik's heart that somehow skips a beat. It would be peculiar for an insult, and as a genuine question, way too bold coming from the Vicomte.

After settling into an agreement about Christine, the Vicomte makes another offer to Erik. -

Summary
It shouldn't have happened in the first place.
Michael should not have been there to hear the song of The Coffin, and he should not have listened.
Gerry should not have come to rescue him, to fight his way back up from hell, and drag Michael along with him.The only thing they can do now is not let each other go again.

Summary
"Is it because she comes back to you?" asked the daroga slowly. He only bothered to open his eyes when Erik spread a surprisingly dry and surprisingly soft blanket over his figure. With his tired eyes, Nadir inspected the uncovered, pale deformity, which, in front of Erik (and with a bit of generosity), he called a face, but his gaze found no reciprocation.
A careful, skeletal hand reached for his blanket and tugged away at the soft folds."Pardon?"
"The soprano. She comes back to you, is that why you love her?"

Nadir, after being fished out of the lake under the Opera, decides it's the right time to have a talk with Erik. -

Summary
"What...is that?"
"Hm?" When he looks up, he finds Michael staring, with a smile so wide it trails off its face, and one of many fingers pointed, right at Jon's skirt. Oh. Out of all the people and the almost-people, he never expected Michael to be the one to ask that.
"A skirt," he says after some time, hesitant and still a bit shaken. Michael chuckles.
"Hm, I figured that much."

When Michael catches Jon wearing a skirt, he didn't expect to have yet another conversation about identity and the past. -

Summary
"Caleb rushed to Philip's room, his right hand slapping on the door handle, and it swayed open, without resistance. A quick wind of cold air rushed through the darkness of the room. But nothing else. Nothing, but his brother, crouched in bed in a convulsive tension, shouting, sweating, asleep.
The sky was rumbling outside, but there was no lightning. No rain."-
Storms, and the fear that comes with them, accompanied the Wittebane brothers throughout their whole life.

Summary
Carefully, Philip unfolded his arms. He winced at the dull ache. The sickeningly sweet, disgusting smell of rotten flesh became second nature to his senses, except Philip found now that the smell had worsened considerably. How long was he asleep for? Certainly not long enough for Caleb’s decomposition to get that much worse...
Boiling rain pounded the earth outside his cave in a constant thrum. Above him came the sick symphony of buzzing flies. Philip groaned again. Despite the shiver claiming his body, he rolled up the sleeve to his loose cotton undershirt; he thought that the sensation of the damp fabric clinging to his sensitive skin would drive him mad. Sweat coated his body like a disgusting film. His mind felt light and hazy.
Then Philip realized something. The smell that assaulted his senses was not that of carrion as he originally thought—this smell was fresher, more putrid and sour.
And it came from him.
(After a week straight of boiling rain traps Philip in his workshop with Caleb’s corpse, Philip learns why the citizens of the Boiling Isles usually cremate their dead.)

Summary
Jonah shakes her head at him. The tin of lip color is set down to the side with the faintest of tap-clicks, and then Jonah is stepping back close to him, a smile on her face, determination in her eyes.
"Do you know what I think, Barnabas?"
"I have never once known what you were thinking, Jonah."
"I think," She says, "That you like this."
//
Jonah practices a bit of makeup on Barnabas. This definitely does not unlock anything, nor does it begin to crack any eggs.

Summary
When Vicomte de Chagny attempts to make contact with his childhood friend after her performance at the Opera Populaire, he is intercepted before ever getting the chance. Dragged five layers beneath the earth by a mysterious man of many titles, he is surprised to find that his capture takes a turn towards which he could not have predicted.
----------
“You are mad,” Raoul hissed now that he could speak freely, still fighting the hold on his hair. “What do you want of me?”
A sharp smack echoed through the corridor as a swift backhand befell him. Raoul’s cheek stung from the force of it, and he wished only that he had thought to clench his teeth.
“I recall warning you,” the Angel said, eyes betraying the anger his voice hid, “to stay away from Christine.”Series
