No whispered words spoken in French when the Radio Demon thought he was asleep had any real bearing in the light of day because, in the light of day, they were nothing.
They barely interacted in the hotel, except where unavoidable, and even then neither one acknowledged the other publicly. They met in secret in the dead of night, under cover of darkness and shadow. It was nothing more than that. They had both agreed to that.
So why was Alastor so hell bent on changing that?

The news of a winged beast terrorizing the villages closer and closer to Camelot spread fast. The way people talked about the attacks only fueled the uncertainity among the commonfolk and servants in the castle. As much as Uther hated magic, the terror caused by the monster grew each day with more and more dead and the injured flocking to the castle. Eventually he had to admit that he was way out of his depth, and when Gaius suggested inviting a specialist to look into the matter, he was met with stubborn resistance. Which in the end did dissapate, and a letter was sent all over the continent in the hopes of reaching a man called Geralt, a master of hunting beasts of all kind.
