"I see it, when I look at you," Bucky whispered as his hand slid up to your face, tilting your gaze to meet his own. A pained look spread across his face. Enough ghosts haunted that look to last a lifetime. The very ones that haunted the halls of your heart and hid in the shadows of your mind. What if HYDRA had created another experiment just like the Winter Soldier? And what if they were a woman instead?
After years of torment at the hands of HYDRA you find yourself pulled out of a base by a man named Bucky Barnes, who seems to share a similar past as your own. Soon, you begin to grow closer to the Avengers who have made you a home and closer to the only one who can understand your pain. As time passes, questions arise that only lead to more questions, and feelings grow complicated towards the one who carries the same blood on their hands as you. Not to mention nothing is working to stop the programming HYDRA gave you, and time is ticking. Will things work out before it all ends?

“Peter really likes you,” Steve says quietly. “Just thought you should know.”
“Um, I really like him too,” you reply quickly. “I do. I wouldn’t let just anyone do to me what...what he was doing.” Immediately after the words leave your mouth you wish you could yank them back in. You’re blushing furiously but the car is dark, so hopefully you’re the only one who notices.
You catch Steve’s half-smile in the passing streetlights. “It’s alright. Peter’s a good kid, I trust him.” Which isn’t really what you were saying, but then his next words are, “You’re a beautiful girl, sweetheart. Stunning, really.” His eyes travel down your body, just once. “Pete’s a lucky boy. If Bucky and I were closer to your age, we’d both be fighting him for your attention.”
