Jaune Arc's journals start as letters to someone who will never read them, scratched-out apologies and half-finished thoughts. Over the course of fifty years in the Ever After, the letters shift. Summary

Summary
He'd do anything for his friends. His family meant everything to him, and there was nothing he wouldn't sacrifice to keep them safe. To a fault. No distance was too far. And the universe was doing its damnest to test that theory at every turn.
The gang has pretty much settled down in Mistral. Canon has diverged (obviously), but what else can possibly go wrong? Other than Jaune getting his ass kicked at every turn, and his friends realizing he can't be left to his own devices without something going horribly wrong.
Or: If the actual writers won't conspire to injure Jaune at every turn, then I guess I'll do it myself.
