Jacob’s back is flush with the rippling metal of the shed. All kinds of shit is being kicked off the worktable in his urgency.
“That’s possums,” Bella says, scraping her brain for memories of a grade school Zoobook, “And also it has like, rigor mortis.”
“I don’t think white people are allowed to say that,” Jacob says.
Bella throws a nut from Charlie’s toolbox at him.
