    The word sounded coy on his tongue. Pretty as his wine-stained lips. A small burst of arousal tugged at Zevlor’s groin, but he did his best to ignore it. Had they been in Elturel, perhaps Zevlor would have understood this as a come-on. But as it were, Zevlor forced himself to settle his thoughts. He took a deep breath and instantly regretted it. Shepherd smelled of ripened fruit, honey-sweet and ready for the taking. His heat was close, perhaps a month or two at the latest, but the smell of pre-heat lingered on his skin. Zevlor could damn near taste his fertility in the air.
