Summary
Sky shouts and there’s hands on him, pulling him up, urging him along, but Legend points his mind toward the shield above them and keeps it there. He tries his best to mend the holes, to nudge his magic where it’s needed most; it’s cooing at him, worrying over him, over his heartbeat, over how much he’s already gone over the limit.
The vet mentally soothes it as he distantly feels his legs give out.

Link shakes his head, feeling an urge to explain away their compliments and their anger.
“I don’t do what I do for the people. I do it for Hyrule, so that someday the plants might grow again, and the birds will sing like they do in the stories. When that happens, maybe the people who live here won’t have to fight anymore. Maybe then they’ll have time to be kind.”
“Hyrule,” Time says contemplatively. “After the land and the kingdom you swear to protect. I think that is a suitable nickname for you.”
