Summary
There had once been a time where those Zaunites who remained in the fields at the turn of the century, empowered by the arcane, turned towards the port city of Piltover. They approached the citizens with open arms, and were met kindly in return. Wishing to share their knowledge, the Zaunites began to conduct trade of magic and resource with their neighbors. Their people grew fond of one another, joining in taverns and festivals with smiles and revelry. The people grew to love one another, and families culminated in the fields, erecting homesteads and founding their own community. They filled their nights with merriment as their bonfires lit up the night, worshiping the Arcane and all it had brought the blossoming young cities.
Before the end of the era, the village had been razed to the ground.

“That thing? Makin’ everything all fuzzy. Are you a witch?”
Tony laughed. “Now why would I be a witch?”
Peter pouted. “Well, books can’t get everything right.”
Tony placed his fingers along the indents of claw marks. His expression turned into something Peter couldn’t place. Peter hesitated, before sticking his own hand out, running his fingers along the grooves, just behind Tony’s.
“That’s because he took you, when you were only little. Not even old enough for your first shift. Now, your wolf has finally decided it wants out.”
Tony looked down at the boy, and he suddenly felt like he knew the answer. Like he’d known it since this conversation began.

A boy in his kitchen, shoved up against the cabinets, a handful of two day old muffins being squished beyond repair in his hands, the soft bread oozing out from between his fingers. A tiny, frail thing of a boy, somewhere in between eight and double digits, who took one look at Tony and leapt across the counters, towards the back door.
