Alaska Winters, number Six of Riko Moriyama's perfect court, goalkeeper of the Raven lineup, had gone mad. He must have done, surely, to think that he'd be allowed to just walk away like this - Ravens don't leave Evermore; the Perfect Court don't leave the King's leash. Except number Two, and number Four, and the should've-been number Five, he supposed.
He supposed it also would have been inaccurate to say "walk away" - dragging his numb limbs down the side of the South Carolina highway in the same clothes he'd been admitted to the hospital in the day before, freezing half to death in the early February air, hardly constituted a casual walk.
