Summary
Crosshair hasn't tried to hurt himself in like, six months, thank you kindly, so it's unfair that, when he lands in the Jedi Temple with a severely injured shooting hand, they send him to a mind-healer. Crosshair does not need therapy. Crosshair doesn't need an annoying hot roommate either, but he's getting both.

"I can't force you to accept help," she said. So far this appointment was meeting all his low, low expectations. "But I can tell you that, given your history, I am not especially willing to release you to active duty unless I am satisfied regarding your current mental state."
Crosshair's right hand itched in the bactasleeve. He was on too many painkillers for it to hurt physically, but it intruded on his awareness anyway. He tried to flex his fingers and couldn't.
The Jedi Healer caught the movement, but her face didn't change. There was no hint in her manner that it would probably be quite some time before he was fit for active duty, whether she signed him off or not.-

He rose unsteadily to his feet. The room was phasing in and out of focus, and his head throbbed. Even his helmet hadn’t been enough to protect him from… whatever it was that had hit his head. A vague image of a boot, seen out of the corner of his eye just moments before he lost consciousness, flicked into memory. That must’ve been it."
