Even if he was a criminal, Zayne knew this wretched man was somewhat of a friend and ally to his childhood sweetheart. He won't let him die. Not when Miss Hunter cared for him, as well as an unknown person only catalogued as "Kitten❤️" in Sylus' contacts.
(MC is not present in this, but she is referenced, and it is clear that both Zayne and Sylus have feelings for her. That said, this one-shot has been written as an introduction between Zayne and Sylus, that will lead to a romantic relationship between the two of them and MC, whenever I will continue this series. At the same time, both Zayne and Sylus have to navigate their own struggles and feelings for MC, and eventually, for each other as well.
