“And I’m not leaving him,” Seven replies, his voice hushed, and Twelve tries to keep his eyes closed and his breathing even as he listens.
“He’ll slow us down,” Eight says.
“He won’t,” Seven insists. He smooths a hand down Twelve’s back, and Twelve wants to wiggle closer, but he also doesn’t want either of them to know that he’s awake.
