They turn a corner when something heavy smashes into the boulder next to them, spraying debris everywhere. It's instinct that brings a brightly colored wing up, shielding himself and Minya from the onslaught. Bringing it back down, he takes in the scene in front of them.
The clearing is a mess of broken boxes and crumbled rocks, holes and trenches gouged into the ground and boulders shining with claw marks.
And in the middle stands Godzilla, huffing and snarling,

Summary
It was a warm night in Whitestone when she slipped from the castle, making her way out into the gardens. Crickets chirped under the cover of darkness as naked, heavy foot falls thudded across the stonework, heading in a very specific direction.
As she closer neared her destination, long having left the tameness of the gardens for the wilderness of the surrounding forest, the unmistakable sound of music reached her ears.
It was not the happy notes she was so accustomed to, set into a jaunty tune that was written to bolster drives and lift spirits. Instead this was something low and haunting, dragging and slowing so as to create something melancholic and longing, almost like a howl on the wind.
She followed the sorrowful flute to a familiar bench, where she found what she’d been looking for.

Summary
Mistoffelees takes him by the chin, and Tugger watches him with a present hunger. Waiting to see which of his self-imposed rules he’ll break for him. Tugger loves that, rules being broken for him.
But Mistoffelees is a stickler, as well as a problem solver. It’s really very unfortunate, how often Tugger ends up getting exactly what he wants.

Or, Tugger is more than one set of hands can handle - what luck, then, that Mistoffelees does not have to restrict himself to the corporeal.

“It would appear so, but I’m sure the oh-so-generous and forgiving Captain Narumi will understand. Especially when he hears it’s me.
Besides ‘s’not really my fault this little guy is moving so fast, or that the First is so slow to mobilize.” Hoshina’s voice dripped with sarcasm as he kept running to catch the small kaiju he had been chasing.

Bartosch met his glower with defiance. “Every damn day.” Hans noticed with unease he was holding his chest and there was fresh red blooming on the bandages. “But I’ve made my peace with it. And if you have any sense in your head, so should you.”
Hans backhanded him. “Don’t presume to know me.”

After a drunken night in the bathhouse fumbling with the blacksmith’s boy, Hans Capon resolves to keep his hands to himself. But then a suave knight (and better poet) had to catch the eye of Bohemia’s favorite hero and suddenly Hans finds himself struggling to not repeat the sins of the past.
