Summary
With his mother gone, every moment Snowy is stuck with his father feels utterly suffocating. So he leaves for Snowdin, never to return.
But his circumstances are far from ideal, and he's forced to join a gang of delinquents just to have a place to sleep, each day pushing the limits of how much he's willing to be complicit with.
Yet who he ends up meeting there might turn out to be more than just a friend. Maybe there's more to life than just making it to tomorrow.

Summary
The Erdtree, having sustained the Spirits living beneath its boughs for many ages, is dying. Its Light fades, and with it the Dark encroaches from all corners of the world. A century ago, the Spirit Ori defeated Kuro, Mother of the Blight, and used her soul in conjunction with his own to restore strength to the Erdtree. But the energy provided could not last, and the Light began to dim once more.
Thus, the will of Ori within the Erdtree has commanded it to give birth to a generation of fighters. Each Spirit of the Warrior Generation possesses an ability unique to them, alongside the capability to grow in power the more souls they absorb. Their task is to slay the beasts of Dark, and use their accumulated souls to replenish the Erdtree a second time.
Ria, Til, Awk, and Sol are four such Spirits. Their journey will take them across Nibel as they face down twisted beings, navigate the perils of their crumbling civilisation... and discover the bitter truths of an eons-old world.

Rated T for violence and graphic depiction of injury.

Bookmarker's Notes
This fic torments Ori physically and mentally in the most cruel ways possible over an incredibly prolonged period of time. Fortunately, as a Wildbow fan, this is exactly how I like things. Intense battles against insurmountable opponents, heartrending plotlines, and solid prose quality. This is the most kudosed fic in the fandom for a reason.

Summary
"You know who does have brains, though?” Marco continued. “The Yeerks. Maybe a thousand of them already. A thousand human brains, a thousand slaves, except those slaves can’t even THINK without their masters knowing about it. There is nothing standing in their way except us—did you get that? This isn’t some movie, where humanity’s going to rise up and pull some bullshit trick out of its ass. The Yeerks are WINNING. Did you not see Elfangor get eaten? Do you not understand the stakes? He was coming to destroy the planet because he thought that might be the only way to stop them."

Holy shit. This is some of the most riveting, complex stuff I've ever had the pleasure of laying my eyes on. This work has genuinely left a permanent mark on my preferences and the way I write my own works. Wildbow fans, check this out. You won't regret it.

Bookmarker's Notes
The prose in the first chapter alone was good enough to make me feel stuff. It keeps at that level and above for the entire work. Multiple scenes have left lasting marks on my psyche. Gold standard for prosal quality.
