Summary
After Red Hood's plans in Gotham go so catastrophically wrong, Jason finds himself shooting his way through South America with only one goal: to avoid the notice of the family he's still determined to hate. But no man is an island unto himself, and Jason, injured and adrift at sea after an operation gone sour, gets picked up by a familiar face from his past.
Jason is sure he doesn't need anyone. But maybe Roy Harper, held captive in a Quraci prison, might. And maybe Jason and Koriand'r might be the only people willing to come to his aid.
Despite Jason's best efforts to avoid humanity, the Outlaws are formed.

They were just being very, very selective about which parts of the truth they chose to share.Dick didn’t need to know that Roy was falling too fast and too hard — again — and he definitely didn’t need to know who he was falling for.
Bruce didn’t need to know that Jason had tied himself to another recovering addict — or that sometimes, when it was late and quiet, he still caught glimpses of his mother in all the wrong places.
Ollie didn’t need to know that Roy trusted a garage full of criminals with his daughter’s safety more than anyone back in Star City.
And no one — no one — needed to know that the Red Hood would burn down half of Gotham for a little girl who had just started calling him Papa.Because in their world, love was a liability. And that kind of attachment could get people killed.
The only problem is, that kind of life has volume. It echoes. And eventually, someone hears it — whether you meant them to or not.

Summary
Roy gets invited along as a couple of bats clear out the remains of a particularly violent religious cult. He finds something the cult left behind and watches his brothers-in-law do the surprised fish thing with their face when they realise Jason knows how to hold a baby.
What? Like it’s hard?This all came from an image in my head of Roy handing Jason a baby and saying “Hold this.” and some bat family members being bamboozled when Jason just takes the baby without complaint.

Most of the Bats seem to think that Jason enjoys killing. That he's some sort of psychopath, gleefully watching for any and all excuses to start filling people with bullets. Like he's just waiting, lurking on rooftops, waiting for someone to twitch wrong so he can shoot them dead.
