Summary
It’s been six months since Sam left to go to Stanford, and two months since John died on a random, nameless vamp hunt. Dean is all by himself, barely hanging onto his sanity, throwing himself into hunts so the emptiness around and inside him seems a little more bearable.
One such hunt leads the Omega to Silver Peak, a small Washington town where someone is targeting Alphas and killing them gruesomely. Dean’s plan is to get in and get out, but that changes when he walks into the Honeybee Bakery and meets Castiel Novak.
Suddenly, Dean finds all of his buried desires for a family, an Alpha, and a normal life coming roaring to the surface, and they aren’t backing down. It doesn’t help that every time he thinks he finds a solid reason why a life of happiness and love can’t be for him, Castiel somehow manages to find a counterargument without even trying.
Or, a loosely-canon A/B/O story where Castiel is just a sweet, gentle Alpha civilian and Dean is a lonely Omega hunter starving for any scraps of affection and love he can get.

Summary
After a whirlwind romance and a year that quickly passes, Castiel has no choice but to leave his alpha and newborn pup behind. It’s the only way he can protect the family he was never allowed to have. Dean doesn’t know Castiel’s real name, or the fact that he is a prince, and already betrothed to someone else. As far as he’s concerned, he and Jack have been deserted.
Five years later, Castiel is free and only wants to be reunited with his family. He learns that people who promised to look after his alpha and pup had lied, and Dean and Jack have completely disappeared. When the prince finally does get a lead, the information is worse than he could have imagined.

The Greek God of War, known to his friends (if he had any) more simply as Dean, reluctantly leaves behind the man of his dreams after a hot summer fling in Paris of 1820, and he's never stopped wishing things could have been different. Two hundred years later, he's a very different man—teaching Kindergarten and living like a regular mortal instead of building weapons and turning neighboring countries into bloody enemies, but one thing hasn't changed, that's how much he misses Castiel.
Oh well, at least he can eat his feelings—time for a grocery run!
