And if it was even possible, his words grew sharper, as precise as darts that always hit triple. His mind was running at five thousand revolutions, desperate to stay one step ahead of the other Toman executive.
Inui knew he would have to deal with Kokonoi later.

Hikaru doesn’t get it. He doesn’t get any of it.
Some days, it feels like Yoshiki just wants as much distance between himself and Hikaru as he can get. Other days, it’s like being away from Hikaru would kill him. Hikaru can’t tell what’s gonna set Yoshiki off or not, and it’s not like looking at the memories would help. He got moody like this before, but only when Hikaru tried to talk about girls or Yoshiki leaving one day, and never for as long as he does now.
Is he doing something wrong?
“Hey, Yoshiki?” he calls ahead. “What d’ya reckon we should do for my birthday?”
Or; ‘Hikaru’ celebrates his sixteenth birthday. Hikaru doesn’t.

Yoshiki had explained something to him once, after yanking Hikaru's hand away from picking at his scabbed knee. "Don’t do that!" he had chided, with the sort of six-year-old confidence that only ever waned as the boy grew older.
"But it itches!" Hikaru had whined back.
"That's a good thing. Itchin's a sign that it's tryin' to heal."
Or the one where Hikaru wakes up for the first time and has yet to realize that he's something fundamentally different now. All he knows is that light is too bright, touch is too electric, and something is categorically wrong.

“Seishu,” the voice was small, like something had cut them off. But almost immediately, Inui recognized the voice. He would recognize that voice anywhere.
A little startled, his green eyes widened as he took in the streetlight glow of Kokonoi Hajime. He hadn’t seen him in what had to be at least ten years, if not longer. He probably kept count in the back of his head but he was too stunned to do any math. Instead, he felt his body move on its own. Inui opened the door wider, moving his foot out of the way and allowing Koko to slip inside into the warmth of the mechanic shop. “Your hair is different.” He commented stupidly. Like it wasn’t obvious to them both.

“What about you?”, he kept going, his inherited impatience from Hikaru shining through as his body stood up and hurried towards Yoshiki. Unphased by the widened expression looking up at him, Hikaru dropped the thin papers on top of their homework, pointing at the pretty red and pink heart-shaped chocolate boxes. “Would ya’ like it? If someone gave you something like this? Do ya’ want this kinda’ romance too?”

Yuzuha raised a brow. “Is Koko the hot guy you want to chat up?” Inui felt a pang of nervousness. He remembered Koko. He was hot, and effortlessly cool. If there was anyone that Inui would want to chat up, it would have been Koko but he would back off if Kazutora was interested.
“Naaaah.” Kazutora waved them off. “Koko’s good people. But he has a friend named Mikey? He’s the one I’m going for.” He winked and then laughed. Inui chuckled too, but Yuzuha rolled her eyes. She looked less than enthused by Kazutora’s antics. Which was per usual, Yuzuha never seemed thrilled with any of them, but they all knew that deep down, she would be lost without them.
Inui felt a wave of relief, which was silly. He barely knew Koko, but it meant that he was free to chat Koko up as much as he wanted.

Inui is a guitarist of a band and he meets his match in a make-up artist on tour.

A loud knock rattles the metal of his front door. Yoshiki yelps, then covers his mouth with his hands, but his hands are covered in Hikaru's blood.
“I know you're in there,” the loan shark shouts. “Open up. NOW!”
The banging won't stop. It feels like it's pounding directly against his skull. Yoshiki puts his forehead to Hikaru's, hoping and praying for him to wake up, for the men outside to leave.
Just don't answer the door. They can't get in if you don't—
There's a sickening crunch of metal and the familiar sound of his shitty front door squeaking open. Yoshiki shoots up, staring horrified at the figure in the doorway, who simply says ‘oh’ at the sight of him.
Yoshiki left Hikaru behind for a reason, but his life still falls apart, and Hikaru still manages to find him. Three years later, Yoshiki is now less inclined to leave him.

They went to most places together, they lived together. If they weren’t texting, they were probably on the phone and if they weren’t, it was because they were in the same room. They were brothers, but they were also just two people that had seen each other at their worst and remained despite it. Maybe that was what love was. “That’s a thing in America, right?”
Inui blinked as he watched Draken inhale and then turn slightly to blow the smoke out, away from Inui’s face. “What is?”
“Friday the 13th,” Mitsuya sighed. “I know where this is going.”

Inui seemed to snap out of whatever he was thinking about and then shrugged casually. “I like showing up at unexpected places.” That was vague. It made Koko want to press a little harder, but he worried doing so might irritate Inui. He was already acting a little weird. “Plus, maybe I missed you.”
Koko laughed, a grin forming on his face. “I brought you coffee to the shop this morning.” He teased. He thought it was kind of cute, in a way, that even after all of this time, Inui didn’t really get sick of him. He got sick of himself all of the time, but Inui always wanted his attention. It helped, in a way, he thought. It made Koko feel a little more like a person whenever he felt less than.
