What she was greeted by was a demon. And not just any demon. He was tall and covered in white fur. He wore a black miniskirt, a pink-and-white striped jacket, and black leather platform boots. A pig was nestled in the crook of one of his four arms, a suitcase in another, and one hand was raised like he’d been knocking. “Well, hey there, sweetcheeks,” he said.
Vaggie slammed the door shut, trying to process what had just happened. She’d heard of the Sex Spider. Everyone had. She steadied her resolve and opened the door again. “This the Happy Hotel?” he asked.
When Vaggie opens a hotel to redeem the sinners of Hell, she is quickly approached by Angel Dust, a well-known Overlord. But everyone in the hotel has a secret, and as Extermination Day marches closer, they're starting to be exposed.

The mistletoe seems to have a mind of its own, flitting around the event. Clint had gaped in wonder and called it a ‘stitch’ or something, mumbling “One hundred points to Hufflepuff” before slipping away. That was about the time the archer’s bow appeared. The green sprig would seemingly pick someone at random and hover above them. The person below it would then be frozen in place until freed by a kiss – either a chaste peck on the cheek or hands, or sweetly intimate like Tony and Pepper’s. The guests have either been keeping a wide berth or trying to catch it.

Half of the Madrigals being struck down with a bad cold by day two was definitely not the planAbuela glanced down at her list, trying to quell her growing anxiety. Of course, someone in the family would come down with something while Julieta was away. She should have made, no- she should have politely asked Bruno to have a vision before her daughter left. But that wouldn't have made a difference anyway- her family would have never said anything to ruin Julieta's trip. They would just have to make some adjustments. Things would be fine. They were fine. As long as nobody else caught whatever Pepa had, everything would go smoothly. "We should all get going. La Familia Madrigal!"
"La Familia Madrigal," echoed the family.

In which Abuela is still the matriarch, Mirabel is still ordinary in an extraordinary family, but the details are a bit different. Golden children aren't golden children and black sheep aren't black sheep.
