Summary
There were many stories that were told around the village, but the most common was of the Fae. The story of the Fae had been told for generations, passed down from parent to child. The stories were often told to children to keep them well behaved.
Tommy had heard all of the stories, but it seemed the rules applied to him more than others. He couldn't even go onto the path alone! Maybe it was because of the gold, glowy light that came from his hands sometimes. Still, he was a big man and he wasn't going to let anyone tell him what to do! So what if his dad is always mean to him? So what if his brother never talks to him? So what if he's hardly allowed outside of the castle just because his hands glow? He knows better than to go into the woods, even if the trees seem to speak to him some days.

Tommy gets kidnapped by Fae. Then he gets kidnapped *ahem* "Saved" by the castle guards. Soon after he is introduced into the royal family as the new prince. When the Fae find him again, they're determined to not let him go. And maybe he'll find out why being the prince of esempi never quite felt right.

“Why?” Icarus froze and Tommy raised a judgemental eyebrow. “It’s because of your powers.”
“My powers,” he echoed. “I never told you whether or not I had powers.”
“I can… sense them,” Icarus bullshitted. Tommy pinched the bridge of his nose.
“Right. What are they, then,” he retorted.
“Uh… super… powers,” the villain answered, sounding more unsure of himself by the second.
Tommy wanted to bash his head against a wall. “Really? That’s the best you could do?”

Summary
Technically it's not Tommy, Tubbo or Ranboo's job to protect people. Technically they are thieves who steal for a living. But an ex-hero's training in combat makes for a lot of internal conflict when your district (and the districts around it) is full of crime and desperation. So they made a promise, every time they went out for a bout of petty thievery they would be on the lookout for people in need of help. It was an ok plan; they only ever had to follow it once a month when they really needed money for food and rent, but unfortunately, heroes don't take kindly to people without a license using enhancements to fight crime. So, even after a lucky opportunity to change careers, SBI is set on their tail and a whole mess of wind-ups and paranoia ensue.

And accidentally fall for the farmers.
