Summary
See, his parents didn't care for their children, but they certainly cared about their image (though, they would say it was God they cared about). Today, their hypocrisy, apathy, whatever you want to call it, led to conversations Sirius hated the most: those about faith and what have you. For a while, his parents talked at him, discussing the sins of sexuality, and of...well...that seemed to be the only thing they really cared about, actually. But regardless, they talked, and then, in a rare, terrifying moment, they turned to him, and with six simple words, made him feel completely, totally, utterly caged.
"So, Sirius, what do you think?"

Sirius feels trapped by the 'faith' his parents force onto him, and one conversation leaves him rather shaken, leading him to seek out comfort in someone he knows he can wholeheartedly rely on: Remus.

Summary
When you aren't shown kindness very often, you tend to be drawn to those who show it to you. That was what happened with Regulus Black as he met Evan Rosier—a boy that, while reserved at times, cared without bounds, and always simply knew. This isn't a love story, but it is a story of kindness and silly-stupid childhood crushes and how we often latch on to people that show us care.

His son nodded. Then, after a short moment, Teddy reached out and touched his cheek with one small hand. "Papa's sad."
Sirius sighed, admitting defeat. He patted the spot next to him. "That's right," he agreed. "Papa is kind of sad right now." His throat started to close again and he felt his confidence falter, but he took a moment to collect himself and continued. "Something sad happened, and sometimes sad things are really big, and you have to let them out." Sirius glanced at Teddy, who was watching him with big eyes. He smiled faintly. "And that's okay—Papa's going to be okay."

Summary
For the past two hours (or, in other terms of measurement: three coffees) Remus has been sitting at his desk with his book, laptop, and seemingly three-thousand tabs open attempting to frantically plan and outline for an essay that was due at the end of the week. It was only Monday, and he was far ahead of everyone in his class, but for some reason, those facts didn't ease the tightening knot in his chest, or how it made breathing feel funny, or how it filled the pit in his stomach with dread, or how it opened the door to the voice he hated that told him maybe, just maybe, it was time to rethink the post-high school degree he had in mind. If he could barely get through a literary essay in a week without feeling like he was about to keel over, how was he going to survive four extra years of it—and only it?

Remus is not having a super great day, and Sirius decides to try and make it a little bit better.

“You’re dying!” Sirius said, which, in his opinion, was a very reasonable conclusion.
Remus cracked one eye open, looking at Sirius like he was an idiot. “I’m not dying.”
“Are you ABSOLUTELY positive?”
