Some say he’s a spirit, some say he’s a hero, others say that he’s unable to die and bound to wander the land, a demon, an omen, that wherever he goes violence is sure to follow. Or so the legend goes.

Summary
If someone tried to kill Noctis when he was a kid, there’s no reason people aren’t still trying. Prompto wants to stay in Noct’s orbit even after high school, and he decides the best way to do that is to start prepping for the Crownsguard entrance exam. If he can get into the Crownsguard, he’ll be able to do something if things go sideways when he’s out with Noct.
After an attempt on Noctis results in civilian casualties, neither Prompto nor Noctis are prepared for the political backlash. And when Noctis discovers that Prompto has Crownsguard ambitions, he wrestles with his desire to protect his best friend (and crush) and the reality that Prompto wants to put himself in danger for his sake.
