    Rumi Ryu only had one plan: keep her head down, play soccer, and prove herself — even if that meant bending the rules and disguising who she really was. But the universe had other ideas.     Had the thought at the start of 13, where the author makes a brief warning for angst:

    Hate when an author who "writes grief like poetry with teeth" gives that kind of warning.

    I had to make the bookmark early entirely for the bit I put quotes around. Because I think that's a really good line. This author inspires poetic thoughts in me, apparently.

    (Also, my worry was unnecessary. This whole thing is just fantastic.)

    Anyway, this is fucking fantastic, and I love the character dynamics, and I especially love the "I don't know why/how this is happening but fuck it we're just gonna roll with it" attitude that everyone has.

    "Don't be ridiculous- I was in space." The man said. He plucked a plastic bag off of Tony's counter and proffered it. "Blueberry?"

    “It’s—” Rumi physically freezes. It looks like it takes her a moment to compute what Mira had said, then she finishes stiffly, “It’s what?”

    Mira’s never been one to lie; and, lo and behold, hashtag polytrix was indeed pressed up as number one on the social media app they’re staring at. Zoey glances down at the related hashtags trending with it: #ITSREAL #POLYTRIXONTOP #RUMIONBOTTOM #HUNTR/XGIRLS #TOTHEGAYWORLD

    Or, Mira, Rumi, and Zoey get caught in the middle of their fans' shipping war—but maybe one ship in particular has more substance than the others.

    Usually I'm not the greatest fan of prolonged pining. Well. A lot of times, anyway. It's usually accompanied by a lot of seriously angsty feelings. But in this one it's rather beautifully done. It's a sweet read. Because they're not *really* pining. The emotions are there. The actions are there. The fulfillment is there, from the start. The only thing missing is the recognition. And I love it.

    At least one other bookmarker had comments on it that said it better, although I'll probably never find that one again. Either way, know this is amazing.

    (Author's other fic, candyfloss, got a fair share of that angst, but is also too fantastic to pass up. Just be aware it's fucking *long* before strapping in for that ride.)
