“Like you were, when you first came here?” Xavier’s gaze was far too piercing. It sliced Logan to the bone, and he could feel his skin prickle where phantom blades cut through it.
“Exactly,” Logan growled, refusing to let Xavier see just how much that bothered him. “That’s why the kid’s dangerous.”
“That’s why he needs help,” Xavier pressed gently, as if he was chiding Logan for his hostility. “And that is why you are the best equipped to help him.”

In which Logan accidentally volunteers to help babysit the latest addition to the Xavier Institute, a strange new student that was quite literally left on their doorstep. However, this student isn't quite a "student" at all; it is a weapon left without a handler. Unfortunately, the new mutant now thinks Logan is his handler. Even more unfortunately, Logan knows more about this situation than he would like to.AKA an AU that embellishes on the fact that Kurt was being used as a weapon by Stryker at the beginning of X2, turning the situation into a recovery scenario that ends up helping both Kurt and Logan overcome their Weapon X conditioning.

FCDHWGVXIYWGDFXIYDX I COULD EAT THIS WHOLE AND STILL CRAVE MORE
The parallels between Nightcrawler and Wolverine and Kurt and Logan, of going from a weapon to a person and all the things that come with that transformation. Logan being so hard on Nightcrawler in the beginning because he couldn't imagine anyone going through what they had and coming out with any shred of empathy, much less a name, because *he hadn't*. Nightcrawler slowly coming to call himself *Kurt* and use he/him pronouns and believing Logan when he says he won't hurt him and accepting, craving even, kind touch. Not to mention the big milestones of talking without a direct order prompting him, and asking questions, and trying so hard to protect Rouge, and finally allowing himself to respond to things by moving his tail and having facial expressions.
And Logan coming to terms with the fact that Kurt is stronger than he gave him credit for. All the trauma this whole thing is prying up and giving everyone else an idea of why Logan is the way he is and them giving him just a bit more slack because of that. AND, Logan's utter conviction that Kurt is going to hate him by the end of this whole thing, meanwhile Kurt over here is secretly wanting Logan to use his name and put his hand on his shoulder and give him jerky as they watch the birds and shit.
Overall: a 10/10. (trust, every time Kurt starts using his name in his internal dialogue, or he/him pronouns, or calls Rouge Marie, or starts thinking he actually deserves basic rights and love, and every other milestone he has accomplished, I'm sitting there screaming both internally and externally as I'm fighting tears because I'm so proud of how far this silly little blue guy has come and he's written so beautifully and I could write a 30 page essay about this fic and still have more to say.)

That’s exactly how Satoru finds her when he bursts through the door. It swings hard enough to smack against the wall. Shoko jolts, rising half out of her chair before she realizes who it is.
“What the fuck, Satoru?!”
“I’m pregnant," he says, placing a hand over his stomach. Shoko stares at him. Then laughs. Hard enough to bend at the waist, a hand coming up to wipe her hair out of her face.
“Shoko.” Satoru’s voice breaks, crumbling on the last letter of her name. It shuts her up, makes the laughter die as she looks at him.
“You aren’t kidding?”
Satoru shakes his head, clutching at the fabric of his loose sleep shirt. Shoko approaches him slowly, eyes trained on his hand like she’s trying to see the proof.
“How do you know?”
Breath stuttering, Satoru smiles, “I saw it.”
Or, Satoru Gojo is pregnant, and he's about to make it everyone's problem.
