She was afraid to look up and see them, so instead she looked at the patterns on her hands. Her lungs filled and refilled with air that burned going down. She flexed a hand, digging the sharp points of her claws into her palm experimentally. This was new.
Her fingers were pried back firmly and insistently before she could break the skin.

My all time favorite Worm fic!! I usually read it on SB, but it'll be nice to have it bookmarked here.
This fic got me to watch a full playthrough of Bloodborne, and then dip my interests into Dark Souls gameplay.
The characters are definitely different enough that it's really fun to see how the author plays around with them, but also keeping a lot of their core characteristics. The weapon choices for everyone were of interest to me, in particular. For example, the choice to give Brian the Tonitrus and it's spheres didn't make a lot of sense to me, but as he started using it more, and really embraced his part in the Hunt, I felt like I too saw his weapon and his outfit as rather fitting, and the imagery that came out of it was amazing (what I would do for some fanart...). I grew alongside the characters, and that's really special.
In a similar vein, the relationship between Taylor and Amy is so messed up (and honestly really funny) but that's what makes it interesting and fun to read. They're so nonchalant about it all, too (well Taylor is, we all know Amy is in a constant state of panic).
The writing really kept me engaged, amazing for such long chapters. The story telling was very well done. There was a lot going on at a more personal level for all the characters, but obviously a lot going on at a greater level, too, with the Eye and Flora and eventually Rosie. I think the author did a fantastic job looping all of it together, where everything has an effect somewhere, somehow, on someone. Real butterfly effect kind of stuff. Dinah certainly had her hands in those pies.
I'm going to have to give it another read through at some point now that it's complete (oh will this be read number 3 or 4? who knows).

As soon as I finished this, I said, "God, this is so good." The journey that all of the girls take, and having the perspective through Chloe of the trauma that Aubrey has endured. This isn't a 2D issue and it was not approached as one. There are so many ways to heal and mental health, and physical health, is so complicated. This story did a wonderful job showing those complexities and the overwhelming effects they have on the characters. infinity/10
