Summary
Shane is injured on the way to the International Prospect Cup in Canada. The accident stops a promising career in its tracks, stops the timeline in which he and Rozanov meet.
A story of Shane rebuilding his life without hockey, little by little, and how Ilya creeps back in no matter how hard fate tries to keep them apart.
Alternatively,
The shop is silent as Shane prepares the coffee, the only noise the low hum of the machine as it brews. Rozanov taps quietly at his phone, and Shane tries his best not to sneak looks at him.
Ilya Rozanov. Here in Montreal. At the Chilly Bean. He has to shake himself internally so the shock doesn't show on his face.
Shane is so busy trying not to look at Rozanov and get his coffee poured into a to-go cup, that he misses when Rozanov removes his glasses. Shane hands him the cup and is struck dumb again as he meets the icy blue eyes, unguarded by the shade of sunglasses.
"Shane Hollander," he chirps, his mouth curling up a bit at the edges in a smirk. "So this is where you are hiding."

Summary
But now, as Hajime twirls the pen in his hands, still stalling in front of Oikawa Tooru’s door, he doesn’t feel very professional or competent.
In fact, his chest feels fluttery and his stomach seems upset and if he was a weaker person, Hajime would walk away right now. He’d screw Oikawa’s flirty smiles and dumb jokes and dump the bastard onto some other doctor who would be better handled to deal with him.
But Iwaizumi Hajime is no quitter and Oikawa will not be the thing to break him.
So Hajime sucks in a deep breath and opens the door in one fast motion, something akin to ripping off a bandaid. This will mark the moment Hajime reinstates professional behavior toward his patient.
“Iwa-chan!”
Hajime wants to turn around and run out the door.
After a sabotage attack (read: complete accident) involving Kageyama and some slippery bleachers, Oikawa is stuck with a fractured leg and orders to stay away from volleyball for six weeks. This would normally be a problem, but luckily he has a hot doctor to nurse him back to health.
Also, there’s a side plot involving a nurse who makes way too many jokes at Oikawa’s expense. Makki blushes a lot.

Summary
Since before he even knew what the words meant, Tooru's mother had told him stories about guardian angels. Bedtime tales of beautiful creatures that would watch over children and keep them safe.
Years later, Tooru would find out just how right she was.
Alternatively,
Iwaizumi: "Angels are real. Now stop jumping off roofs and making my life difficult."

From there to here, or a look at what happened between the end of the curse and the end of the movie. (Because there are some things you don't want to tell your class of elementary school students about your love life... or your life in general.)

Summary
“Ilya Rozanov,” Shane repeats slowly, letting himself taste the words. He grins. “Wow. You’re, like, a really good player. How come you’re in Canada for summer camp? Is that weird to ask? Sorry if that’s weird. I just meant-”
Shane is cut off by a hand on his mouth. He flushes.
“Too fast,” Ilya says. “My English… not good.”
“Sorry,” Shane mumbles into Ilya’s hand. Ilya grins and shakes his head, curls dancing, as he pulls his hand away.
“Is okay. Slow words. Okay?”
This year marks thirteen year Shane Hollander's third summer at Coach Marakov's elite hockey training camp. In attendance for the first time: Ilya Rozanov, visiting from Russia. Shane isn't the most sociable, and Ilya's English isn't the greatest, yet the unlikely duo soon become the best of friends.
It's just one summer, but it makes a world of difference.
