Summary
Something felt wrong while I was waking up, but it took a while before I booted up enough to remember what it was.
And, when I did, I jerked in my restraints. Which I had now, apparently. Joy.
So, to summarize: The company’s crappy equipment fell apart mid-transport, unlocking my cubicle. I couldn’t fall into stasis again, so I spent the time watching media, which someone somehow noticed. A young human came to investigate and had enough information to know I was rogue. I panicked.
And now I was tied up somewhere.
This was shaping up to be a great contract (that was sarcasm).

Summary
It was good to see being turned into a human did nothing to change ART's assholey ways. Also, I remembered how many times I wished to punch it in the face in the past.
Now I could, so I did.
I dialed back my strength, of course. I had no intention of seriously harming ART-human. It was more of a slap, really.
ART-human pressed a hand against its reddened cheek, gaping at me. It swayed on its feet, but managed to keep upright.
"Why would you do that?" It squawked in outrage. I don't think I ever heard that tone from ART, either, but, again, not enough processing power to check that.
I shrugged. "Always wanted to do that."
"Well, I always wanted to do this!"
And then it was hugging me.

Shen-shidi stared at her blankly before grabbing the tonic and downing it in one go.

Liu Mingge poked him, not even able to find the delayed swat funny.
"...When is it supposed to work?"
Shifu furrowed her brows, grabbing Shen-shidi's wrist again. "It... should have sent him to sleep already. I don't understand how it didn't work."

They were ruined. Deliberately so, patches made entirely bare with skin covered in scars, pinions cut absurdly short, some bits even burned out.
Those were the wings of someone who went through torture.
